Biography

Richard Realmuto grew up in Corona, Queens. His grandparents came to America from Sicily, and like many of you, Richard watched as his parents created a delicate balance between maintaining their Italian heritage for their parents while encouraging their children to assimilate into American culture.

Richard attended Catholic school at Our Lady of Sorrows. After high school he decided to skip college and get a job, but returned years later and earned his Bachelors Degree from New York University and his Law Degree from Bridgeport University School of Law. It took eight years of going to law school at night while he worked during the day—but he became an attorney who fought for those who needed it the most.

He has been a member of the West End Collegiate Church for the past 19 years, and has offered counsel to children and adults. Richard’s family moved to Washington Heights fifteen years ago, where he has coached little league baseball and as an avid dog lover, was involved in the inception of the J. Hood Wright Canine Club and currently serves as its Vice President.
